March/April Newsletter

Smile Proud

A smile is a universal hello. It is one of the first things people notice about you. If you find yourself hiding your smile with your hands or smiling with sealed lips, you should consider scheduling a consultation to see what we can do to improve your smile. We want you to be proud and confident of your smile.

At your consult appointment, the assistant will take photos of your smile and impressions of your teeth. Prepare for your consult appointment by writing down what you like about your teeth and what you want improved. Are you unhappy with the whiteness of your teeth? Do you want spaces closed? Do you have old restorations that need replaced? The doctor will consider your concerns and discuss your treatment options.

The photos and impressions will be sent to our lab technicians along with a detailed prescription from the doctor explaining what needs improvement. After pouring your impressions into a solid model, the lab technicians will add wax to the model, creating a mock-up of what your teeth will look like after treatment. You will then come back to our office and view the mock-up with the doctor and decide whether to move forward with your treatment. We are confident you will be impressed and eager to proceed.

If you agree to treatment, these are a few things to consider, especially when front teeth are involved:

1. Are you happy with your current shade?

If you are considering in-office or at home whitening, make sure to have the whitening treatment finished two to four weeks prior to your preparation appointment. This gives your teeth a chance to rehydrate and allows any white spots to calm down before your final shade is taken.

2. Consider your options.

If you want a single front restoration, but lack symmetry, consider what that will do for your smile. Sometimes restoring additional teeth can make a huge impact on your overall smile, whether it is shape or shade. The doctor and lab technician consider all options for the best outcome and so should you.

3. This is an investment in your oral health and your appearance.

We understand that everyone has a budget. We will work with you on the best treatment options that fit within your financial means.

Special Offer this Spring:

Continuing Education

Sarah, our in-house lab technician, traveled to New Orleans to attend a three-day hands-on course led by master ceramist Olivier Tric. This course focused on refractory and non-invasive veneers. Olivier Tric is known to be one of the best dental ceramists in the world. He shared his techniques and tips on creating beautiful front teeth. Sarah was extremely inspired and grateful for being able to attend this outstanding course. She is able to incorporate some of the techniques into the restorations she makes for Dental Center patients.

Participants flew in from all over the world to participate in this hands-on course. Technicians from Switzerland, Dominican Republic, Washington, Iowa, Texas, Florida, California and a few from New Orleans. What a great group of talented individuals!

Patient Testimonials

Amazing team, great care!

I recently had to have a tooth pulled and they walked me through each step (and sound) so I could relax. They even let me pick the radio station! The Dental Center team is always professional and courteous. They receive a 5 rating from me because they manage my dental anxiety just as fabulously as they manage my dental health.

Professional Quality Service

I always have a good experience at The Dental Center. I am always nervous, because of past unpleasant dentist visits as a child, but the staff always tries to put me at ease and make me feel comfortable. If I need dental work done, I am always sure the staff will take great care of me and make the visit as painless as possible. I would highly recommend Dr. Stovie and my hygienist, Marie! They are the best!!

Professional staff welcoming environment

I hate going to the dentist but after coming here my first time I have changed my views. The staff is all so kind and welcoming. They make sure you are comfortable, educate you, and keep you informed. Would recommend to anyone!

They think of everything to improve their patient's overall experience!

A co-worker referred me to The Dental Center about a year ago. I had many issues that needed attention. Dr. Chris put together a 2-3 year dental plan of action that was manageable and financially feasible! I saw Dr. Shannon a few weeks ago to have a few teeth pulled and she was wonderful! Everyone is friendly, helpful and professional. They have patient comfort and convenience in mind with Heat/massage exam chairs, on line scheduling and communication, text appointment reminders and a blanket to cover up with while having my teeth pulled!
