Studio One Ceramics

Where Art & Technology Come Together

John Vrbicek, CDT & Sarah Williamson, CDT

At The Dental Center, our Doctors utilize an on-site dental laboratory, Studio One Ceramics. This is a true advantage over traditional dental offices. Two highly trained, certified dental technicians, John Vrbicek and Sarah Williamson, work together to fabricate dental prosthesis for our patients. The technicians are especially helpful when matching natural teeth to ceramic teeth. Studio One receives impressions of the patients mouth, along with a prescription written by the dentist to fabricate the proper dental prosthesis. Services offered by Studio One Ceramics include:

Meet The Technicians

John Vrbicek, CDT

Previously  to starting at The Dental Center in 2005, John had 22 years of experience in the dental laboratory field. John graduated from Kirkwood's Dental Technology Program in 1983, earning his Dental Technician Certification in 1987 specializing in crown and bridge work. John has served as a board member of The Iowa Dental Laboratory Association since 1990, serving as President five of the years. Since 1993, John has been a chair member of The Dental Laboratory Advisory Committee, offering advice on Kirkwood's Dental Laboratory curriculum for the students. John enjoys the artistry that comes along with creating teeth, making every tooth unique to each patient.

Sarah Williamson, CDT

In 2004, Sarah completed Kirkwood's Dental Technology Program, where she studied the fabrication of dental prosthetics for two years. Sarah worked as a full time dental ceramist in a local laboratory for two years before joining The Dental Center Team in 2006. She became a Certified Dental Technician in 2007 specializing in ceramics. Sarah was the Treasurer of The Iowa Dental Laboratory Association for several years and worked as a board member to plan the state's continuing education meeting every January. Sarah attends several continuing education programs per year, absorbing new technology and expanding her artistic abilities.

Kyle Haganman

Kyle joined The Dental Center Team in July of 2015. Kyle was always interested in health care as a career, growing up with a father as a family physician and an uncle as a dentist. He decided on dentistry after shadowing various dentists, including Chris, during his undergrad at U of I. Kyle played football for the Hawkeyes and graduated in the Spring of 2011 with a degree in Psychology. After applying to dental school, he was not accepted, so he decided to enroll in the dental lab technology program at Kirkwood in order to gain knowledge of the dental field and become a more competitive applicant. After completing the two year program, he accepted a position as a dental technician at our office, while continuing to shadow and volunteer at a local free health care clinic. Kyle will continue to work in the lab until he starts dental school this fall.
