Shannon Hingst, DDS
I have been with The Dental Center since 2000 and it is my passion to provide an empathy-centered approach to the practice of dentistry. I am here to provide caring, personal care of high quality that takes the whole patient into consideration.
Dental anxiety can be a pretty large concern for people of all ages. To help ease fears I am specially trained in the use of oral anti-anxiety medications, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), and even intravenous conscious sedation. With these aids, as well as a little TLC, I am able to comfortably treat a group of patients that never thought that to be possible. Along with a DDS degree from The University of Iowa, I maintain ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) certification and am a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
I take advantage of annual anesthesiology seminars to ensure I have the latest information regarding sedative agents, pain relievers, and anxiety reducing agents. Assuring safe, comfortable dental care to patients who have before only known fear and discomfort at the dentist is one of my passions as a dentist.
I offer family dental services for patients of all ages including fillings, crowns, root canals, whitening, removal of teeth, and other advanced surgical procedures.
Outside the office I keep very busy with my husband Phil and our four children. Aside from attending school and sporting events for Andrew, Jackson, Russell and Heather, I enjoy gardening, landscaping, camping, golfing, and a canoe trip with Phil (whenever we can steal the time away together). We try to make it to a county fair or two in the summer to relax with friends, eat corndogs (my favorite), and listen to some live music. There’s never a dull moment with the Hingst family!
